We’re into the second and (in some cases third) counts in many constituencies and some interesting stories are shaping up. UBP leader Michael Dunkley is slipping behind Patrice Minors in Smith’s North (4 at the first count, 20 at the second), Kim Swan (UBP) and Dean Foggo (PLP) are slugging it out in St. George’s West, Zane DeSilva has taken an early lead over UBP incumbent David Dodwell. No sign that Jennifer Smith is facing a repeat of her narrow 8-vote win in St George’s North against Kenny Bascome, and Charles Clarke is surprisingly leading the former UBP leader Wayne Furbert, but new boy Darius Tucker already looks home and dry against Dr Brown’s mouthpiece Wayne Caines in Hamilton South.

With Rick Richardson moderating a panel of Julian Hall, Tom Vesey and Jerome Dill, there’s some lively cut and thrust going on and some good insight all round. Poor VSB looks sadly amateurish with Bryan Darby and Stuart Hayward, complete with headphones, peering at the Parliamentary Registry web page which they keep showing on screen to no effect – I have a 42-inch plasma and I still can’t make it out. Over on CITV, I think Al Seymour Sr. is talking to Ottiwell Simmons but there’s no sound. Al’s lips are moving, though …
Not sure how much stuff I’ll put up today as some us are self-employed and do have to earn a crust! But in the meantime, it looks as though the Bermuda Sun has been quick off the mark with pics and reports from around the constituencies posted before midday. There is also a live link to VSB radio coverage for later on in the day. When I checked The Royal Gazette at 1 p.m., they hadn’t posted a single election day story and the RSS feed was silent.[Update: a short report posted at 2:49pm] You can also follow the official election results, count-by-count at the Parliamentary Registry site which can be found here. There’s also streaming audio of VSB’s coverage here which you can pipe to iTunes, Windows Media Player, Real Player, WinAMP or VLN.
