So let me guess how today’s chaos surrounding Lehman Brothers, AIG et al is going to play out. The  executives whose greed precipitated this mess will get nice fat payoffs and will get to keep their ill-gotten gains and bonuses while ordinary investors and employees will get screwed over. Whatever happened to all that corporate compliance and regulation that was supposed to stop this sort of thing happening? The lot of them should be charged with criminal negligence and their assets – not to mention their balls – squeezed until they beg for mercy. Scumbags.

My good friend and fellow blogger Mike (Uncle Elvis) Hind is generally a mild-mannered dude but the worsening situation in Zimbabwe – which he and his family has close ties to through his Dad Dusty’s African art gallery – has got him rightfully riled up. He’s produced a couple of cracking political strips in recent days on his excellent blog The Devil Island.  Anger brings out the best in the boy, methinks. Good to see him in such biting form.

At least it seems the African Union and the European Union are finally standing up to the bastard – although it all seems too little too late to save Zimbabwe from a complete and tragic implosion.
