Mac at the movies

It’s probably about time someone made a movie about the Mac – now two are set for release. Welcome To Macintosh seems to be more a historical documentary about the Apple story from Apple I to iPhone 3G (Trailer quote: “It’s like a sausage factory. You really don’t want to know how this stuff is made.”)

MacHEADS looks more at the zealots, geeks and others who make up the Mac community and asks whether Apple is now just another brand. Trailer quote from Mac user: “I’ve never knowingly slept  with a Windows user. Ever.”

Mailplane 2.0 released

Mailplane

Mailplane is one of my must-have apps, as it brings a whole lot of desktop functionality to GMail such as drag and drop files, the ability to automatically optimize photo attachments, and send screenshot captures as instant attachments. They have just released version 2.0 which boasts some 40 new features, mainly built around support for GMail 2 such as video chat support and so on. Well worth the upgrade. If you’re a GMail user and don’t have this, it’s $24.95 well spent.
It’s Mac only right now but a Windows version is on the way.

The 50 worst famous football fans

The 50 worst famous football fans | Premier League – Times Online

This was a very amusing piece in The Times recently. Osama’s a Gooner, apparently.  Even more amusing was the response from Schalke 04 to The Times’ suggestion that Der Fuhrer was an 04 fan.

So how about a Best Famous Fans list? I reckon my beloved Queens Park Rangers can top that, seeing as Mick Jones is a regular down at The Loft. I had a piss next to The Clash man in the South Africa Road Stand once. He’s quite small in real life  … height wise, of course. How he measured up otherwise, I have no idea …

Mick Jones: A Loft man.
