Not sure what my 6 year-old Toby is expecting from Monday’s public holiday, only he’s very excited about Bermuda having a “National Superheroes Day”. Dame Lois Browne-Evans might have been something of a crusader but, to the best of my knowledge, not a caped one.

Here’s a first glimpse, courtesy of a leaked Verizon marketing video, of the new Blackberry touch-screen Storm, due out later this year. Big 3.2 inch screen, lots of functionality but no physical keyboard and it looks a little chunky compared to the iPhone. Boy Genius Report has lots of details in what is claimed to be a leaked RIM powerpoint doc. Time magazine has a whole bunch of other info and links here.
So what is a technowhore like me to do? Do I stick with Blackberry, order that new iPhone or wait for an improved Google Android device? Decisions, decisions ….
Had a good time at the Bermuda Music Festival on Friday grooving to UB40. It was great to see them again after all these years (1980-81, I think was the last time) and it sure brought back a lot of memories, although I would have loved to have heard more of the older dub-influenced stuff like King, Tyler, and Madam Medussa. It’s a shame Ali Campbell has had his differences with the band – he left in January after 30 years – because while brother Duncan is giving it his best shot as his replacement, he doesn’t quite have the unique and seemingly effortless tone that Ali has. For a reminder, check out this video for Kingston Town.
