I want my iPhone now!

iCall App Enables GSM to WiFi / VoIP Switching On The iPhone | WSI Bermuda Blog

As if my technolust for a 3G iPhone wasn’t enough, WSI Bermuda has news of a cool new app from Skype-type company iCall coming to the new Apple app store that will apparently let you switch seamlessly between VOIP over WiFi and regular cell calls. Can a killer Skype app be far behind?

No news yet, though of anyone in Bermuda being able to sell and support the iPhone (although Canada is due to finally get legal iPhones come the 3G release on July 11, but Canucks are far from happy about some of the rumoured data plans).

And good luck finding a free public wi-fi spot in Bermuda to use something like iCall. Bermuda is still woefully lacking in this area –  Common Ground on Chancery Lane in Hamilton is the only cafe I know that has it (please feel free correct me if I’m wrong on this). For a so-called connected business centre like Bermuda, it’s shameful.

Anyway back to the iPhone, if you want to drool a little more, check out the latest guided tour on Apple.com. I WANT ONE NOW!!! I’m loathe to buy an unlocked iPhone but if something doesn’t give this year, I may have to take the plunge.
